Matthew Legge

Matthew Legge

Matthew is currently a Research Officer with the Injury Research Centre at the School of Population Health, University of Western Australia. His background is in mathematics and statistics and since joining the Injury Research Centre (previously known as the Road Accident Prevention Research Unit) he have been involved with maintaining the Western Australian Road Injury Database, the Centre’s other databases and analysing the data extracted from them. His duties also include liaising with State government departments and other researchers on road safety and injury issues. Matthew’s interests in the field of injury prevention and control include methods of assessing injury severity from medical records, database design and implementation.

For the past two years Matthew has had a growing interest in genetic epidemiology and has recently enrolled in a PhD investigating the genetic epidemiology of cutaneous malignant melanoma in a twin-family study.
